Q. How soon before my event should I order a cake?
A. Two weeks advance notice is the best, but as always, the sooner the better. I am limited on cake design without at least three business days notice.
Q. How soon before my event should I order my cake pops or cupcakes?
A. At least 48 hours. For orders larger than 4 dozen, additional notice may be needed. As always, the sooner the better!
Q. How do I order my cake?
A. At danascakery.com, click Contact Me or click HOW TO ORDER and then Contact Me. You will be prompted on entering all the necessary information and I will receive your order by email. It is also possible to contact me through messenger on my Facebook Page Dana’s Cakery. Once I have received your message or email, I will confirm your order and finalize the design with you.
Q. What if I don’t know what I want?
A. Contact me and we can discuss ideas and possible options in order to design the perfect cake for you! The amount of servings and desired flavor of cake are a good place to start.
Q. Can you make each half of my cake a different flavor?
A. For cakes larger than 20-servings, you can choose two flavors. Sometimes the design of the cake prohibits flavor choices, though. For tiered-cakes, each tier can be a different flavor as well. Contact Me to determine your best flavor options.
Q. What is Fondant?
A. Fondant is made from sugar, corn syrup, and water. It is somewhat similar in taste, texture, and properties to marshmallows. It is used to cover cakes and in cake decorations or sculptures. It is different but similar to gum-paste. Adding water to fondant makes a sticky mess, so please don’t freeze your fondant-covered cake unless you take extra precaution to prevent condensation when thawing.
Q. Should I pick up my cake or do you deliver?
A. All cakes are pick-up except large-tiered cakes may need to be set-up on-site. Delivery charges will be previously determined if delivery is needed. Please Contact Me to discuss delivery options.
Q. Can I choose multiple fillings?
A. For cakes larger than 20-servings, you can choose multiple fillings. The cake design sometimes prohibits this. For lots of flavor choices, cupcakes are your best option.
